CAPPELLO:
2-7 cm, globoso, poi convesso-piano, a carne non spessa (specialmente al margine), liscio, giallo-zolfo vivo, spesso un po color ruggine al centro; margine ricoperto da floccosità giallastre.
LAMELLE:
fitte, strette, annesse, color zolfo all’inizio, poi ocracee o olivastre, bruno marcato alla fine.
GAMBO:
3-6×0,3-0,4 cm, esile , flessuoso, giallo-zolfo o giallastro, arancio alla base, ornato superiormente da una cortina bianco-giallastra che può aderire al cappello.
CARNE:
gialla, molto amara con odore sgradevole.
SPORE:
bruno-porpora, pronunciatamente ellettiche, 6-8 x 3.5 micron.
HABITAT:
in gruppi voluminosi sui tronchi vecchi e ceppaie.
